charlie or anyone who can help

i recently got two origa 1.12 pal chips and took them in to a repair place to have one fitted to my v4 ps2,well its three weeks later and they said they cant get either one to work thats not the problem the problem is the ps2 wont eject anymore and they are saying its not there fault it must have been the chip that stuffed the ps2,so can anyone tell me if that would happen from the chip or are they just trying to get out of replacing it.i dont think it would matter if it was the chip or not they took the job with a three week old ps2 that had no probs and now it does i think they should have to fix or replace it,any thoughts or addvice would be appreciated
cheers

The chip is passive and can't stuff the PS2. It puts 3.3v out to the SCEx point to feed the "fooled you" signal and this has nothing to do with the eject tray. Furthermore, the OrigaChip is not connected to the BIOS tray open/close points as it has no need to command an eject.

In short, they messed you rPS2 through incompetence it would seem to me. Before you take it back to them, just open it up and look at the inside to see (with a magnifying glass) whether or not they have blobbed solder around anywhere.
