NightStalker....

Sorry NightStalker... the board wouldn't let me post replies to that thread?

Original games load just fine. It's all the backups that won't work. The other weird thing is the way the mod lights up in the bottom slot, but in the top it'll only turn on if you wiggle it around half-way in (I've heard the same from a couple other ppl too). The GameShark (ver. 2), when it's waiting for the backup, should the animation (grid lines in the back) stop, because it seems like it's not doing what it should...like it's not taking time to load tracks from the GS? If I hold the reset button and let go at "push x" screen, it doesn't eject. The wire I got did look kinda funny. It was solid silver in a blue sheath. Someone told me that it's silver because it's made out of a different material (conductor)? I'm no electrician, but it looked kinda like solder at the end of the wire itself, but I've never seen that before? I hope I didn't trust the wrong person? ..... And then I hear people tell me all kinds of dif/ methods for GS2 booting. I'm not even sure I'm doin that right. Whatta nightmare. I'm usually good with this stuff??? Thx for the help though...!

If you can't get PSX backups to load then something is wrong with the chip or the install. Go to www.lik-sang.com and look up the install diagram for your version PS2. I have used the lik-sang diagrams several times so i know they are correct. Follow the instructions exact, If it says to connect the wire to the left side of a componet then connect it to the left side (it does make a difference) be sure no excess solder is bridging or connecting to anything else, use a magnifying glass, also tape the wire to the board making sure that it is out of the way of the contacts so it doesn't get pinched when reassembling the PS2. Plug the usb mod into the top port, turn it on and insert a PSX backup and press reset, If it still does not load and you are positive the wire is connected correctly then you may have a bad chip and want to exchange it...Good luck, i hope this helps.

Thanks for the help! As soon as I get the time and the visual strength to focus on the points again (lol), I'll check those points.. If it works, I'll give ya credit all over the board... if not... I'll let sleeping dogs lie... lol..
Thanx again NStalker...
