ghost recon 1.1.5.0 no-cd troubles

i'm having problems getting the nocd patch for GR 1.1.5.0 to work. everytime i try to run it i get the fallowing error:

GHOSTRECON caused an invalid page fault in
module GHOSTRECON.EXE at 017f:0055a664.

i'm assuming this is a fault within the .exe itself. i've installed the patch and everything worked fine but i lost the cd thus i need a no-cd patch.

i'm running windows 98.

if anyone else has this problem (so i know i'm not alone) or can relay a possible solution please reply.

it may be a drivers stuff problem..what kind of hardware do you have??????

i can't even get the no-cd exe to extract out of the ace file. I've used winzip, winrar, unpack pro, etc. all of them say "unknown method". I'm using windows xp.

sound blaster live
nvidia gforce 256 ddr 64mb

the sound blaster drivers are up to date i belive but i'll double check. and the newest nvidia drivers 23.10 or whatever they were had some sort of negative effect on my FPS so i went back to 21.83 or whatever....

can't belive i skipped over something as simple as drivers...whoops :) thanks

download winace and use it..............it'll find it..............Dont know what happen this time, cause usually the files are a zip file from this site, but this one is an .ace file and winzip could not do it..Winace came through though

Try this to fix your invalid page fault error:

On your system, go to the below link, if you did not install GR here, go to the install folder and follow the rest of the link:

C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Save\Game

Check to see if you have a file named min.csf_bin

If so, create a new folder and cut and paste it out of the current folder.

Doing this fixed the exact same error on my system and allowed me to play with no problem, although my saved missions were no longer available --haven't figured the solution to that one yet . . .
