I have had an idea that if enough people email plextor technical support about the safedisc 2 problem we may get a firmware/upgrade workaround or solution. After all most businesses only need to know their reputation is getting damaged and their sales will be down to act.

Trying to get a CDRW manufacturer to upgrade its f/w so it can copy protected disks?

I don't fancy your chances.

What are you going to do, buy another drive that does copy them?

And, backin´pouder, which drive wloud that be, please????

Ive managed to copy RA2 with my new IOMEGA ZipCD 8/4/32 and CloneCD.
The Copy works in any drive!!!

If I was looking at buying a burner now, I wouldn't buy just yet, I would wait a little while, pretty soon your gonna have 20X write, so youll be able to do a CD in about 3 minutes, pretty god but you will pay for it.
On the other hand, SD2 is killing everything, let it settle 'cos someone is gonna work around it soon, Blindread/write suite's programers are working on this right now. Wait if you want to backup your discs, if your using it to master, buy a Plextor 16X10X40,These are very new and very fast(and probably very costly). Dont have one yet but may soon if it does SD2.
