please help me!!! (software, Wolfenstein, Aliens, X-Tension)
hi, i need help with a few things...
firstly, what software would people recommend to copy pretty much anything? i'm currently using WinOnCD, Nero, CloneCD and CD Mate (which claims to be better than Nero and CloneCD). I've used WinOnCD for ages and it's usually good enough to make 1:1 copies on the fly for anything, occasionally have to replaced files with cracked .exes but thats it. Now i've hit a few problems. There are 3 games i can't copy: Aliens Vs Predator 2, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, X-Tension (X-Beyond the Frontier expansion pack). Can anyone please help me with any of these games? What software do i need to use and which settings? What protection do these games have and how do i get past it? If anyone can offer any help or advice please let me know! ________ Dodge 440 history |
Clone CD is the best program to use. In addition to this get a copy protection scanner like Clony which will tell you the protection and what settings to use in Clone CD.
RTCW has NO protection so you shouldn't be having any problems copying this at all. I think Alien vs Predator has Safedisk 2 protection. If your burner is capable of 'correct EFM c####g' and able to write in RAW (check the help section in Clone CD to see if ur writer is supported), then you should be able to make a copy of this game no problem. When reading to an image file (and do this from ur burner), select Fast Error Skip and in the Error Skip settings set Read Retries = 0 and Error Correction = Software. Then burn the image to a cd. If your burner isn't able to make 1:1 copies of Safedisk 2 then try using the same settings above for reading to an image file, then when writing make sure you select 'Amplify Weak Sectors'. This MAY work - not with all writers. Ur last option for a Safedisk 2 game would be to use a fixed exe'. You can download this or you can make your own using Unsafedisk. See other posts for instructions on using Unsafedisk. (I'm sick of writing it- too much typing) |
