scsi or ide , please read
 
im new to all this CD copying lark and would like to know what the difference is between a scsi and an ide , i've heard people say scsi is better but i would like to know if there are extra requirements within the computer to run a scsi drive .

help appreciated !

You need a SCSI interface but this is usually supplied with the burner kit.

Ok...To use a SCSI you need a SCSI card. If you are not good with computers SCSI can cause alot of problems. At one time SCSI was better, as it helped with buffer underrun errors and such, but CD writers are at teh point where IDE are just as good. And less buggy.

I have a Sony CRX140EBP IDE and all my discs have worked fine!! I haven't had to throw away one single! I had a HP 7100 and a 8200i before and they didn't work at all. They both spit out the disc during the burning process! I also upgraded my RAM to 128 MB and I think it's very important to have it because you prevent buffer underruns!
