Star Trek: Armada 2 detects cracks?
 

Hi,

I can launch ST: Armada 2 without a crack as well as with a crack with my burned copy.
However, I can't play on gamespy/gayspy. When not using a crack it says "you need a cd to play" when hosting a game and I want to launch. When using a working crack, my game is highlighted in gold colors in gamespy and my name gets the addition "incompatible", making it impossible to play with other people. At least when using a crack Armada 2 seems to be able to detect it.

So did anyone find a solution for that yet (if there is any at all)?
Only playing instant action is somehow dumb after a while.
Since I bought Armada 1 I don't want to afford Armada 2 since I know it'll be fun... for a few months only and getting boring then.
