Help with my Yamaha CRW8824E......
 

looking for some info re my cd writer according to the manual it supports DAO,TAO,SAO and packet writing why then will clonecd only let me use SAO and to DAO which from reading the forums seems to be the way to make a perfect copy......help please

i have the yamaha 8424ez ide drive, and clone cd does the same thing. i think it is because clone cd and the yamaha do not support DAO together.

i could be wrong, if so someone correct me

I have the Yamaha 8x/4x/24x SCSI and it works fine with clonecd, have you upgraded to the latest firmware?

i think i am using the 1.0j firmware.

I have the same Burner (CRW8824E)

I have no problems with Safedisc (use CloneCD 2.8.3.1 SAO-RAW)

No problems with Laserlock (use Blindread 3.0.1.x serveral Gaps)
Than use Blindwrite (SAO-RAW)to burn the Blindread -Image

Securom-Protected Games do not work, because the Writer can`t write the subchannels perfectly.

The Plextor 12/10/32 IDE works great for that copy protection
