How to open .cab files
 

Is there a windows utility for opening InstallShield cabs, I tried the i6comp program but I could figure it out. I'm not that good with DOS programs. I'm trying to replace the original exe file in the setup cab for Empire Earth with a cracked one because the game I have needs a crack.

As i can see you are unable to use correctly this useful utility.Do the next in irder.....
1.- copy i6comp.exe on your command dir(w9x,me) or system(ntx...i'not sure of this)or system32(2000,xp)
2.- copy the .dll files on your system dir(win 9x,me)......
3.- copy the cracked exe,the data1.cab,data1.hdr and data2.cab into a empty dir
4.- remove read only attributes from those files
5.- open a dos window and go to your copied-files directorie
6.- execute "i6comp -l data1.cab *.exe" to look for the original exe
7.- execute "i6comp -r data1.cab xx" where xx is the original exe position
8.- set again read only attributes on datax.cab/hdr
9.- burn the cd with this cracked files(replacing originals) and same label...............enjoy the game!
