Deus Ex backup won't work on my system!!!!
Hey guys, gotta question.....I did a backup of Deus Ex, and it works fine at work on a PII 400 running win 2k....but at home it gives me some damn critical error....what's the story? I have a PIII 700 running '98. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

One more thing....it fails when I put the disc in, and also when I select setup from the browser. I can't even install the freakin' thing....

I think the problem is in the crack if you used anyone or due to your cd rom drive. Don't remember what type of protection uses this game but depending of the crack it's nasty normal that works on a win98 os and not so in others. If cd-rom fails probably is that copy is bad-done....(some drivers only reads if a cd is perfect!...)You can also upgrade your drive-flash memory.Try it!

Thanks, but I figured it out. Apparently, there is a conflict with Deus Ex and the drivers for Gravis Gamepads. So what I did was uninstall my gravis, install deus ex, run it the first time for video configuration, then I ran the NO-CD crack (after getting the new version of course) and then I reinstalled the Gravis Gamepad. Works perfect.

Deus ex is not copy protected and is easy to patch for a no-cd game.
Mail me if you want the no-cd patch. |
