OFP 1.20 Fixed Updates

Both the Fixed Updates from ÐíZtrãçtíõn & [HKC]HongKong can now be recreated using the official OFP 1.20 Update, unSafeDisc and a few Patches (available @ GCW)

Let us know if it is working or if it still FADING!

BTW: The Unofficial OFP v1.20 [US] Update [5.0 MB] is now also available again (on our mirrors)

Use a HexEditor, like UltraEdit-32, open the OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe file and check
which string is at position: $000002a0
Possible Strings: "suicide!", "nofear", "street knowledge", "hideous kinky", "spellbound",
"r!sc woz ere", "-razor 1911 rtl-" & "can you feel it!"
Execute the correct PATCHFX-{str}-{nr}.EXE Patch and apply it to: OFP_120_Fixed_Update.exe
Replace the {str} for the found string and replace {nr} for the Patch.

I used UltraEdit32 to open the file, and used the Find Text Command; it brought me to lines for all of the above )except "Can you feel it!", and "Street Knowledge" - they were not found), but NONE of them were on line $000002a0. Is there a way to change the "code" that I see to actual words in the strings, and then search that specific line? Where do I go from here?

You should just look for 1 of them ;) @ $2a0

It just to check which string was used of the 8

Most gaming companies think that everyone is on Cable or DSL ;)

These gaming companies should make an update CD free of charge for those with a modem and a legal key ;) to make good for their own made BUGS... but than again, the gaming companies are not the big gainers, the distributers of the game usually make the most...

NONE of them were found at $2aO. Some were found at different places, but NONE at that line. (I guess I could tell you all the lines found for those strings, but it wouldn't make any difference). BTW, which version is this crack for? I have the 1.00 version (European i think)

thanx

EMPiRE 22-09-2001 03:01

try it on another PC, had the same thing here for some odd reason

I used unsafe disc on the update, which worked fine, but when i tried to find the string position it did not come up with any of the 8 listen in the file "ofp_120_fixed_update_1.ace". It did find "dcX" though.
I applied the update to OFP anyway without patching the update, but FADE is still active. I am using the OperationFlashpoint2.exe also.Any suggestions? Thanks

Found the error (got following message):

=========================================
Error found in file DTA\Data.pbo (f50def4f!=29ab50e0)
=========================================

It was a corrupt install file (i found it, by using an Original-File from *.bin ISO-File -> and it works!)
