Question about US PS2 version U6 Model SCPH-35001
 

I have the Version that comes with Gran Turismo 3 and was wondering what version it was and if it is compatible with the current mod chips. I have searched all over and all I can find is version 4 which is model 30001 and has a U2 in the serial. So, is this model blocked from using a mod chip or not? Thanks for any help.

I just got through chipping a u6 with a neo2.2 modchip, It is a version 4 PS2 and it worked perfect.

So, it was a GT3 Playstation or just a U6 model? Either way that is encouraging. I also have GameShark V1.9 but am waiting for a little more info before choosing the mod chip I put in.

Yes it was a GT3 PS2, I used a gameshark2 V1.8 to boot the backups.

Is the GameShark2 v1.8 y'all talkin bout UK Cuz the newest one im findin in the US is v1.6 and some guy who worked there said it wont work on my ps2 is that true (US Serial U5 30001) would it work W/Neo2.2

Yes badazz, I live in the US and have a v1.8, Also the v1.6 WILL work on your PS2. Any gameshark2 v1.4 or better will work for a v4 PS2.

Well, I got v1.9 from Software Etc and I live in Florida. That is the version they had out over this past weekend.

I live in Georgia. Got V1.8 at a local Walmart store.
