GTA and Half-life question

I downloaded the full version of GTA 1 off the internet, and I have the game installed on my hard drive. Is there a way to burn GTA so that it will play on a CD without any files needed from the hard drive?

The question with Half-Life is basically the same, except I have the CD for HL and I have installed a No-CD patch for it to play it without the CD on my hard drive. Is there a way to burn Half-Life to a CD so I could play it off of the CD?

In GTA that should work as long as you don't try to change some data (like saving highscores or renaming a player), otherwise the game will crash.

HL - not sure - should work, too, but of course you won't be able to change any settings.

Why would you even want to play off a CD? Unless you have a really high-end drive, the performance isn't going to come close to the speed that your HD will give. Load times will be huge, and like someone else said, you won't be able to change ANY settings.

Just play it off your HD, it's really the only option.

Perhaps he has a small HDD and doesn't want to delete/reinstall the games every time.
