Myst 3: conflict between the official patch and the no-cd exe
 

I am trying to get a backup of Myst 3 working. It installs fine and I used a no-cd, but the game causes an illegal operation when trying to ####t (in directx or software mode). Apparently, the official patch (v. 1.2) fixes this problem, but when I applied it, the game ####ted asking for the cd again. I put the no-cd in again, and still get the illegal operation.

Is there another way around this? Or a patch with the no-cd already in it?
