Looking for a fix when it says the retail version is not installed. I just got the new patch and it says that the retail version is not installed. Does anyone have an answer to this problem??????????

Install the retail version.

Yes, before the patch there is an average of 6000 people playing the conquerers on zone, now down to about 2000 or something. please help us. there are lots of us who want it.

Two points I want to make. First you should have a copy of the Original AOC. If you have enjoyed the game as much as I have, youshould contribute your share and go buy a copy. Second The NOCD crack is great. I use it strictly because it speeds up the game and saves me from buying a new CD-ROM drive every 6 months. Now if someone can post where the new NOCD crack for 1.0b patch that would be great.

i posted a way to fix it...search for "solution to age of empires new patch"

I used the unsafedisc (v1.55) as you metoined earlier, the game works now, but it requires a game cd (it can be a backup cd too) when I ####t a Single player game. This solution doesn't create a NO cd crack! It's playable now, but I still waiting for a real NO cd!

ok every1....here is 'the file'....but would some 1 plz help me get the official patch to work......i cannot get the registry fixer (comes with file) to work on my install!
it should make the patch accept my game

niche, u rule man. I was so sad when i couldn't get the patch to work but thanks to ur solution i can use the mighty persians to kick ass again this weekend. I am so happy. thanks again man!!!

I have enjoyed the game so far but I want to know if anyone knows how to install the new patch without having the retail version. Just because some people have the original version does not mean we all do. And it shows by the number of people not playing on the zone. So if someone knows how to load the new patch please post. If you are going to say buy the retail version, keep your opinions to yourself.
