Red Alert 2 Copy Problem

I have the English version of C&C Red Alert 2, and when I try to apply the crack_soviet (or crack_allied) patch I get the following error:

Access denied
Duplicate file name or file in use
Please delete crack_soviet.bat and burn the CD with the label: RA2

This means that everything's allright or something went wrong? Do I have to copy the CD contents using ClonedCD or something else?

PLEASE HELP ME!

you have done right when it says like that....just do what they say (delete files) then burn it.

Well, grin, nice to find out here, at least this ensures people are dedictaed to save their precious stuff ¦¬]

Okay, I did proceed, but it still comes back to me "PLease insert the original CD" and won't let me install from the copy!

What else could you recommend?

Data: RA2 english, crack RA2 english applied, written with a Plextor and f**** don't like me ¦¬]

Apparently CloneCD is reported to have managed to copy it - are there any special settings required? First attempt on default could not read the CD...

Makes me think if it is a problem with the CD-Drive?

Cheers!
Yuri

Remove 'read only' attributes on the files before running patch.

Ok, the crack worked for me, but after I made my backup copy I ran the setup.exe from GCW.com and the computer opens a msdos window and locks up. I have tried downloading the crack from different sites, but same thing happens on more then one computer. Is the autorun supposed to run when disc is put in computer? Cause mine doesn't.Thanks guys.

When you install the game don't install it from the setup screen, open windows explorer and install it from the install file you have copied
