The most annoying part of this whole deal is that all we need is an 8 GB DVD-R !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HUH?

DVD writers currently don't have a universal size disc. the max is currently 4.7Gig and DVD movies are normaly 9Gig so just need to wait a bit untill they come out with the bigger disc's.

i thought 4.7 gb per side was max for dvd's? making the max for a movie 9.4? hmmm, i gotta start messing with divx :)
