What is a *.rar file?
 

Im trying to No-cd Tribes2, and I keep getting rar files from this site. I usually get zips or exe's or something. How do you use a .rar file?

It is a compressed file like a .zip file bu you need Winrar to unzip!

I found Winrar, and it costs $35 for a friggin 635k program. Do I have to buy Winrar to use gamecopyworld now? :o

WinRAr is free for a certain amount of times until you register it i think, i personally would recommend that you'll use PowerArchiver ( http://www.powerarchiver.com ) because it'll decompress .zip & .rar as well as many other compress files.

What you also can get is WinACE which is free, the demo butit works ell and it can do .ace filess , .zip , .rar files, i htink that is the way to go!
