It's on: ####://go.to/gamefix

If any one wants to make one for them selfs then download unsafedisk 1.5.5 heres the link.
####://gamefix.moax.com/files/unsafediscv1.5.5.zip Its very easy to do use the find files and folders tool in the start menu and look tell it to look where you installed the game for the following files 00000001.TMP CLCD16.DLL CLCD32.DLL CLOKSPL.EXE DPLAYERX.DLL There will also be a GAME.EXE and GAME.ICD where game is then name of the game. For example the GAME.EXE and GAME.ICD for Crimson Skies is crimson.exe and crimson.icd. Now make a copy of all the files including the GAME.EXE and GAME.ICD and create a new folder i like to make one on the desktop. You should now have 7 files in a new folder. Run unsafedisk but NOT within the folder you you just created. Press the DECRYPT button and find the folder with all the 7 files. There should only be one file showing which will have a *.ICD extension tell it to open it. Thats it. Now go back to the folder you created you should now have a new file called TESTME.EXE put this file where you installed the game now make a new shortcut on you desktop and point it to TESTME.EXE you should now be able to play the game without the CD. |
You only need: Game.exe, game.icd and dxplayer.dll to unwrap a game!
That's all (try to read the info-file)! |
Trismogestos your right i need to read thing more slowly. oh well who cares.

Looking for a recent update on Crimson Skies
 I've found a current location for Gamefix, but their link to the 1.02 nocd Exe was broken. Anyone on here with newer link data want to update this thread?

It's here.

That URL is a problem, it seems!
I just let Mozilla have ten minutes trying to get a complete response from clicking on that link. It never timed out, but the few bytes coming back were scattered and the result is worse than slogging through molasses! After that, I plugged the URL into the location bar. And got a screenfull of high ASCII symbols. So "something" is there . .
 I just have to figure out how to get at it, I suppose. I tried just the IP and the first suffix as http://66.79.179.19/cs/ but that came back "Document Contains no Data". Same for only the numbered part. Kiwi * * |
Going to try using "UnsafeDisc" to create a NOCD Exe
:o As of this morning, Crimson Skies still doesn't work with SafeDis(c) enabled (and I would swear it was spelled USA style with a "K" as SafeDisk). I tried it with nothing running in Win98 other than Explorer and Systray. Same old, same old. Nothing other than CLOKSPL.EXE (whatever that amounts to) runs.
The splash screen starts loading but then everything stalls (seems like when SafeDisk tries to run). I have aTDK VeloCD 32/10/40, CD-RW that isn't on Atari's list of "usual suspect" CD drives. Comparing my PC to the game's minimum requirements, I have nearly five times the processor speed, eight times the total RAM, eight times the video graphics RAM, ten times faster CD speed, etc. I'll edit this with my results after I try making my own nocd. (First test after that was without clearing away any running programs, not even DUN, Mozilla, NAV, etc. And it looked like it was doing OK; at least at first. I left it on the starting menu a few minutes to refresh myself on the joystick's workings, and lost the mouse pointer. The Task Manager reported that Crimson Skies was "not responding", and it didn't accept being forcibly shut down very well, either.) _____ The current Gamefix URL for UnsafeDis(?) is: http://gf.wiretarget.com  Kiwi * * |
