Neo2.2 vs. S-BOX

I know its kind of stupid to ask it, because all of u tell me that neo2.2 is allot better...
BUT someone told me that the neo2.2 requiers double reset method to run backups and it messes up the ps2,
so...is it true?

Dont believe everything you read. The neo 2.2 has a new cd brake function that stops the cd from spinning when swaping the disc and has solved alot of the timing issues as far as booting certain games. My backups load faster since i switched to the Neo 2.2. so i would definitely say its better than the Neo 2. As far as messing up the PS2 that remains to be seen, i have chiped alot of machines with the neo 2 and the neo 2.2, so far nobody has complained. Alot of problems can be avoided by getting a experienced installer.

So how do u run backups with neo2.2??
plz write all steps from the first to the last...

Neo2.2 to hot?

I always read how good neo2.2 works, especially in this forum. But what is about the heat problem. my video game purchaser will not fit the neo2.2 for me, because he is not convinced of this chip. they have tested it, and other possilities to mod the ps2 (like a preview version of the datel 16mb memorycard with bootcd), but they say, the ps2 becomes to hot und they can not give any garantuee, so they don t offer the chip. what do the users who already have the neo2.2 mean?

same problem man...
the man in the store said that the ps2 gets too hot so he offerd me the S-BOX... I dont know what to do, what should I do???

Go to playstationmods.com for booting methods, As far as a problem with the PS2 overheating this is the first i have heard of this. I have installed over 20 neo 2.2 chips, all in US PS2's, including my own PS2 and havent had a problem with overheating. Sometimes my kids play for hours at a time so i dont think anything is wrong with the neo 2.2 chip.

The Neo 2.2 Chip is fine the only time they overheat is if you have had a dodgy installation, to avoid this goto an experienced chipper.

To boot PS2 games with Neo 2.2 you also need a boot disk for Pal machines Action Replay 2 or Region-X.
Insert boot disk hold reset until main screen is loaded. Release reset and cd tray opens, switch boot cd for backup (you have about 4 secs I think.) Select start game, without codes and press X.
This works everytime for me.

Simon,

That booting method you have describe is the EA boot method, for normal backups you dont have to hold the reset button down whilst waiting for the not endorsed logo to appear.

Cheers

Dal
