MechWarrior 4 mystery.
 

Okay I dl'ed both no-cds for MechWarrior 4 but it still is protected. I've tried the patches but it still wants cd#2. When I goto insert Cd#2 it just sits there waiting for it like it doesn't see it , even the original. I've tried UnSafeDisc but when I go to decrypt my MW4.exe it wants Dplayerx.dll out of the directory , but when I want to crack it wants it in the directory so it's a catch 22. What do I do? I've tried both cracks and have followed the instructions to the letter and my backup is useless. And I've did both size installs too. Help!

If you have the original and a cd burner, use clonecd and make a 1:1 copy of it. I did it, it works perfectly and you don't need any cracks.

Well unfortunately their site , CloneCD , says it doesn't support my Memorex CRW1622.

Did you try downloading CloneCD anyways just to see for sure. My burner was listed for the longest time. When I got the latest version it finally picked it up. Worth a try. Plus Nero should be able burn it just as easy as CloneCD. =;)~

I had the same problem but I found the answer in another post. Go download this file:
####://mektek.net-games.com/mech4/patches/mw4nocdv1.zip

Unzip into the c:\temp\exe that you created before. I ran the f2f.exe and hit the crack it button. When it's done it created a file call mw4.exe.bak and I copied it (as well as the mw4 and mw4.icd but I don't think you need to copy those) and pasted into the mechwarrior 4 program. It worked for me. I didn't have to do that unSafeDisc thing with the dplayerx.dll. Hope this helps.
