I am delighted that the Chip works. This means that the 18000 is incompatible with the Chip.

DVDRX might be a problem. I've not got it working on my 15000 because I haven't found codes to load for the DVD driver version. Also, the 10000/15000/18000 series will not play PAL DVD videos under any circumstances.

Finally, was my diagram of the connexion points helpful to you?

well, I got the 10000 and don't have the codes for that either for the region X.. and can't tell you which were used on mine when someone installed the dvd drivers for me, and apparently the region X setup to go with it. however, since there are none on the region x page for my version either, I assume he possibly just entered a random code or just 0's.. it crashes when I try to boot a DVD video with it, but it still works just fine for swapping.

I think your 18000 wires are wrong. I have provided diagram to show difference. You could send an e-mail to DTAEL or CODEJUNKIES and ask them for the codes. Otherwise you will not get different region DVDs working. All I can play on my 15000 are Region 2 NTSC and Region Free DVDs (the back street shops do these).

who test origa 1. 25 with the action replay v2. would like to know if worked dvd-R ,cd-R .dvd films all areas?: it was not wrong the diagrams I organized and I don't work but the origa that I tested was bad will test that ta working charlie

at last its working, though 2/3 of 18000 board really dont work on the origa 1.25.

Regarding the DVD playback:
i cant play DVD Region 1,3-6 when using the DVD-Region US version...
When playing these regions i used my DVD Region X (jap). This is the one with the dongle... and it works perfectly (except for PAL movies)...

the origa has no influence AT ALL on the dvd video playback.
the ps2 is a very poor DVD player.. by far not all movies will work on it, and on a jap or US model, it's impossible to play back PAL (european) DVDs, even with a region X. they're simply not capable of outputting a PAL signal during dvd playback.
