DVD+RW compatability?
 

Does anybody know if the dvd-rw format is compatible with the playstation 2? I'm thinking of buying a dell computer with a DVD+RW drive in it, is that a good idea, because the main cause for bying it is to back-up my games and such....PLZ HELP ME....

DVD+RW is incompatible with PS2.

DVD-RW is compatible.

So the DVD+RW or DVD+R can not be used for anything except movies and other data, but not PSX2 backups? Are you completely sure, is there anywhere you can read about this?

dvd-rw is only readable in certain very new models, not in any of the older ones. all of them read dvd-r, and none read dvd+r, dvd+rw, or dvd-ram.
