What disk do I need to boot with or action replay do I need to get FF chronicles and Hoshigami to wo

I have used a demo disk since day one with my psx and action replay but I am starting to get games that will start up like the open movies of a game and then the screen goes black. Do I need to use a different original game to boot up or get a newer action replay?

thanks.

hi m8 what program r u using to burn these games , what brand of discs and at what speed

datter 31-01-2002 19:26

The brand of CD is hypermedia and verbatim. As for the other questions I don't know the answer since these are sent to me. The all start up but once you get down with the opening movie or past the start screen the screen goes black.

Also thank you very much for offering help, I have sent out some email and been asking for a while with no one responding. So thank you.

the game might be proteted and will need a patch try and copy at slower speed if you can try using a discplanet disc or mirror white tops ive had problems before when i used vertamin cds

It works on other psx's. So the discs are good it something with either the boot disk I am using or my action replay.

do you have a gameshark?
Since my friend uses his gameshark cd as the boot up disk and then goes from there. He's never encountered any problems with this method.

"do you have a gameshark?"

No it is an action replay.

It doesn't matter what disk you boot with as long as it's and original Playstation disk. There's a sector on all PS disk that the Action Replay needs to read and then you can go on from there.

As for the blank screen it sounds like a speed copy issue, speed kills PS games, if there ones I reall care about, 1x or 2x but I don't have burn proof software.

Could it be a psx model issue then?

Not sure but, I just tried to back-up my copy of Hoshigami, Clone copied the image to my hard drive but then failed to burn it to a disk. Nero falied to read the disk after spending 30 minutes trying. Looks to me to be a new type of copy protection.

After digging through my software archive and both Nero and CD Clone failing to make a copy, I pulled out the old Cdrwin by Goldenhawk and wa la, back up created!! I only save this software for if I need to apply a patch but maybe it's time I use it more.

This sucks, I was really hoping that I would be able to play Hoshigami. It looks like it could be a kick ass game.
