Screwed x2?

I have an external plugmod and a Boot disc ver.2. I can burn copies of PSX games using CDRWIN, CloneCD, etc. all which work perfectly on my PS2 (same is true for CD-ROM PS2 games also) which also has an external USB Mod with Gameshark 2, so I know my copies are good. Problem is can't boot these copies in my PSX using either the plugmod (game enhancer- from plugmod.com) or the boot disc (from Gamegizmo.com). Are these products crap or am I not doing something. All PSX copies have been 1:1 copies- no patches, etc.

One of the possible problems may be that you have an older psx model. If this is the case in order for the copies to be read properly you need to place your psx on its side throughout the duration of use. Its really not that bad to deal with but if you using the boot up disc I suggest playing with the cover of the psx closed or the spring may slide out of place and you'll have to restart.

My model # is SCPH 7001. Should this model work with either of them. How do I determine what version my plug mod is? (Is the the same thing as a game enhancer?) How do I determine what version my boot disc is? Does it even matter? Thanks,

Don't worry about the version of the plug mod and boot up disc, they should work fine just place your psx on the side and then do the required swap trick, leave the psx on its side for the duration of the playing time.

Just try it and let me know if it works.

no luck- any other ideas. By the way, what does turning machine on side do to change the way machine works?

On older systems its suppose to align the lens properly in order to read the cd.

What type of media are you using?? A 7001 is a late model. its possible it could have a weak laser so it may have problems reading cheap media.

You must clean your Lens using Isopropanole or Lighter Fluid !
Check out this site http://geocities.com/psxrepair/ this will help you let me know if it works!
