2x dvd rom drive
 

hi

i am looking into buying a dvd rom just for ripping ps2 dvd games only.
my question is should i buy a cheap 2x dvd rom drive i found for $18.00 US? in other words is 2x good enough just for ripping or do i need something better? what speed are you guys ripping at?

cuz i cant afford a dvd burner rite now..

i will eventually get a dvd burner but for the time being i would like to rip dvd games

i just dont know what speed to get that will do the job for the lowest cost rite now

2x is a speed relative to DVDs. Since the packing density is 8x over CD, this equates to 16x CD speed. So that's as fast as it gets with current technology.
