clone cd

I recently upgraded to a newer version of clone. What does the amplify weak sectors do and why is it disabled and can it be re-enabled, or is it not really neccesary?

It enables data protected by Safedisk 2 encryption to be copied in most countries except those listed by Elby as exceptions. You are obviously in such a country.

To enable it, either look for the entry "AmplifyWeakSectors" in the Windows Registry and change the value from 0 to 1 or re-install it having set your PC in Windows to a different country, like Uzbekistan or Canada.

Yep, as Charlie mentioned, its to do with the safedisk 2 copy protection.

3 ways to enable it and charlie has mentioned 2 of them

The third is to download a clone util called CloneAmp, run this first and it will enable the feature for you and start up clone in one easy step (this is easier than playing with the registry if your not to sure what you up to).

If you want to have a play with the windows registry method then follow these steps.

Click START, then RUN, and type "regedit" in the box and click OK.

Click EDIT at the top, and then click Find, type "amplifyweak" then press return. (windows will scan the registry).

One the right hand side under the heading of "Name" locate "AmplifyWeak", to the right if this under the heading of Data, you will see the binary value of "0x00000000 (0)". This value needs to be change to "0x00000001(1)" to enable the "Amplify Weak Sectors" function.

Click on "AmplifyWeak" to highlight it, then click on Edit and then Modify, in the box enter "1" and click OK.

Close Regedit, and thats it all done.

Happy Burning!

thanks spooky, followed your regedit instructions and it is now enabled. Just a quick question-amp.weak sectors is now checked all the time,is this correct?

Thanks again.

Yep - it stays there. No matter, if there are no weak sectors then it is lame.
