The copy you made of the game is not the problem. NFL Gameday 2002 needs a patch to bypass the copy protection. There may be other ways to keep the game from detecting the modchip. Possibly upgrading to a newer modchip.

if you have been able to make a raw copy of the disc without patching try to use import player boot disc (download from this sight). i have tried patches availabe and it just screws game up and still detects chip but i was able to play if i used a boot disc (set video-off /anti-mod killer-on/anti-ar killer-on then just boot /swap out to back up disc and your on your way) with out new chip!!!!!!!!!!!!!
