PSX Emulator
Anyone know of a good psx emulator?
I've tried Bleem and that doesn't really do all that well for many of the games though it plays many of the in game movies rather well. I've tried epsxe which works really well for alot of the actual game play but sucks when playing the in game movies. Anyone know of an emulator that plays in game movies well and game play is just as good if not better?? |
StingyOne,
No disrepect, but could it be your setup? Like, what kind of CPU + grafix card are you using? I have a crap Cyrix 333+ BUT I also own an Nvidia-based card that plays aloing very nicely with Direct-X based software. I use Bleem 1.5b and I'd say 70% of the games work; the intro movies work great - no glitches at all. Some games look awesom when you enable 3D acceleration - can you achieve this? It's slow, but the level of detail at 1024 x 768 is out of this world. My firend - who ownes 1GHz PIII and a Geforce 2 Ultra, makes Bleem look like an X-BOX - the games really are that good. Alas his setup is not the cheapest of options. Perhaps a Geforce 2 MX would suffice for your needs? I'll continue to see if I can find a better emulator, and if so you'll be the first to know. Happy trails m8 :-) |
I've tried different settings. The games I wanna play, like mutant academy 2, don't even work in bleem at all. It just loads up a black screen and that's it. I'll try playin with it some more. Could be because it's cracked too. but who knows.
I do have 3d capability. I'm not sure what the brand of my card is. I'm runnin on a 500mHz 256ram 40 gig system in win98. I wanna just build a new computer but I don't have the money at the moment. So i'm just lookin for software that works really well. |
I almost forgot, the VGS is also the closest you'll get to an official emulator. Sony took Connectix to court over this product, and the case dragged on for some 3 to 4 years before an agreement was reached, which is that Connectix are allowed to sell the VGS. So, the product must be pretty good if they had Sony worried!

Sony has since bought Connectix
