DVD region x

Does anyone know if it is possible to use dvd region x without it erasing all the data on the memory card. I would be very grateful for a solution to this as it is becoming very frustrating loosing all my save game data, and I only want to buy a new memory card as a last resort.

uhm.. it doesn't delete any data at all, unless your memory card is ####ed in the first place (i.e. using a 3rd party crap one)

is there anything adverse happening that is worrying you?

No, its just that every time I put the dvd region x disc in, when I next come to play a game, all of the previous save game data has dissapeared, and I get a message saying memory card is unformatted. The only way out is to format the card, hence erasing all the data on it! It is not a crappy card, its an original Sony one.

do you have an old region X and forgot to put in the dongle?
I have the region X too, and it definately doesn't harm any data at all.

I too have a DVDx(bought recently) but no dongle .. Anybody explain ?

No, its the newer version of region x, where u have to use the memory card.
I have also read reviews and other people have had the same problem. I have been told to use a seperate memory card for region x, but that means spendin another £28!

I've never had this problem. GT3 saves survived the introduction of DVDRX. I suspect it's something to do with the codes if you've set them. We didn't but when my friend tried yesterday, all sort of problems arose (but he had no saves on the card). He had to begin again and with a blank memory card going forward all was well.

i had same problem only way round this is a second memory card which involves swapping them around every time u use region x so as not to wipe out ur saves
