Modchip Nightmare

I've Installed my Neo 2.5......I booted up the PS2 and the browser screen came up...I pressed Eject to boot up a backup PSX disk....Hit the reset button to close the tray like the instructions say....the Tray would not close.....After trying the reset button and then the eject button with no evail, I gently closed the tray, made sure that the little white pin was all the way to the left, and turned my machine off and on....Now the only thing that happens is the Reset button turns from red to green...the machine starts up but nothing comes on the screen, and the reset button no longer does anything,it doesnt turn blue and it doesnt open the tray...my machine is pretty much dead, except for the fact that it turns on and off.....I have tripple checked my connections on the mod to ensure that there was no solder jumps,I've checked every cable to insure that they were installed properly..the only thing that I can tell that is wrong is the power/reset cable is a little bit scuffed/bent from disassembly/reassembling the machine so many times...Is this my problem??
Please, If anyone can help me out It would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Before you buy a new ribbon cable, deinstall the chip and see if the ps2 works. If it does, use the chip's pass-thru ribbon and connect it to your ps2 & reset/eject buttons, but don't connect any of the wires and check it again. If it works when you do that, try soldering the wires back, but take good care when connecting pin 1 (black wire) because if you went through the previous steps and everything worked, pin 1 was most likely the culprit.
