V4 PS2
 

Hi everyone i have a PS2 V4 (i am guessing since it has 8 screws on the bottom), well my question is: Is it possiable to use a Game Shark 2 V1.9 using the mod chip swap to play burned games?

Also, I heard about a way to open the drive by wiring in a switch that would activate the motor that opens the cd tray. Is this true? and also is it safe for the PS2?

The smartest and easiest thing would be to get a neo 2.2 installed in your PS2. The kog, knife method does work but is a good way to destroy your system. as far as a tray switch goes if you are going to disassemble the PS2 to solder a switch then you may as well install a chip...Good luck with whatever you decide.

Yes, I have a V4 PS2, gameshark2 v1.9 and a neo 2.2. So far i havent had any problems.
