some copies won't work

Hello,

I am having problems with some backups as they wont get past the initial Sony screen (when first switched on).

I have the latest/last (small one) version of the PS1 and got the smartchip about 6 months ago. I am using CDRWIN ver 3.8d to back up the games. The latest one that I have tried unsuccesfully is "Forumla Karts S.E". I have checked and this game is not protected.

Does anyone have any idea why the copies won't work??????

Thanks for any help,

Vijay

M8,

What media are you using to make your backups on??

take an image of the game from your cd writer not your cd reader, then burn it back at a slower speed.

Some more info please m8

i find the best bet is verbatim discs still get the odd dodgey one but not to many

Try using cdr-win. Burn it to an image file and then onto your blank disc. For some reason certain games will work initially. But after a few plays won't get recognized as a disk on your ps console.
Clone-cd seems to be great at first but more elaborate games seem to fail after a disk to disk copy. Patching also seems to help, whether it needs one or not... I seem to get better copies after applying the games patch.

Hi m8,

Did you install the chip at your own? There are a lot off chips that only can boot the pal games(if your ps1 is a pal version). The best chip is the onechip! This chip use 8 wires in the stealth mode. I yours use not 8 wires then can you only boot the pal games! or it is not in the stealth mode!

If you need more info talk to me at irc.wondernet.nu #leechandburn.

I have also de hex files off this onechip!

greets
