i have bought a new cd writer and cannot copy games

i used to have a hp 7200e cd writer and was able to copy playstation games fine using cdrwin 3.7e
and nero 4.0.9.1. But i have recently purchased a hp 9500i and i have had to get updated versions of the above programmes but when i copy then i cannot get them to work in the playstation, it just pauses on the first sony screen when you load it. the way i do it is copy a image to the hard drive then burn it back to a cd. when using cdrwin i burn it to hard drive using raw mode but my cd writer doesnt support raw mode when i burn it back to cd so i just do a normal one. This used to work when i had my old cd writer and the older versions of nero and cdrwin. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I find that very hard to believe that your new writer does not support RAW mode, i currently have a Hp8200i which is 18 months old and is RAW compatible, your model is the next one up, that does seem a little strange. Have you tried to make a music cd using the free Easy Cd software, just to make sure your burner is actually working alright, you may have a faulty one.

You actual methods of making backups seem fine, but check out www.psxcopyworld.co.uk for a up2date tutorial on the software you use to burn. Also have you made sure that your new writer is compatible with the current version of CLONE and NERO you may find your writer is so new its not in the current release i had this problem when i used an old version of CDR-Win on my Hp writer, it did not function properly.

Goodluck and let us know how you get on

I may be wrong but According to www.elby.de your burner is RAW-DAO-96 which means you are 100% compatable with clone cd and should support the writing of RAW data. I have the same burner as dal, HP8200i and it works perfect with clonecd and cdrwin. When you updated cdrwin you didn't use a crack serial did you??

Warlock and I make the same point so often - use licensed or in-date trial versions of copy software (if that's your problem)

Anyway, RAW for writing doesn't matter in CDRWIN in my experience.
