My copy won't work

I have tried to copy syphon filter 2 using CDRwin.
I extrated the files to my hard drive with the following selections
Disc Image/cue sheet
Reading options:Raw
Error recovery:Ignore
Jitter correction:Auto
Subcode analysis:Auto
Data Speed: X1 Read Retry Count: 10
Audio Speed: X1 Subcode Threshold: 300
I burnt the Cd using
Load Cue Sheet and at X2 speed
The copy displays the Sony screen and then stops at the memorycard screen. My Playstation has a mod chip.
Do I need a patch or am I doing something wrong?

All CDRWin default values should be left as they are originally installed.
Do NOT change 'error recovery' from 'ABORT'.
If CDRWin aborts when creating the bin files then it is due to you haveing damaged source cds.
There is no point in backing these up if that is the case.
The game is not protected at all.

Thanx, but I've tried resetting the defaults and it still don't work. Could it be the media I'm using BASF/Emtec?

HI,

not to knock what your using but as far as im concerned decent media is just as important as good writer software.

I only use either Verbatim or TDK, sony also do some good cdrs. You dont have to spend loads for half decent media, and that could be the key to your problems, those BASF ones do look pretty cack!!

Get some new media try again and then post back and let us know

Cheers Matey

Were you copying from an original?

Is your writer compatible with CloneCD and therefor could you use that instead?

It's very good practice to have CloneCD as well as CDRWin and use CloneCD first if only to prove the backup. Patches can come later with CDRWin.

Sounds like a damaged original, try copying from a different source with error recovery set to abort. If you dont get any read errors the backup should work fine.

SORTED! Changed the media and it works fine............ (any one want any silver/blue circular decorations for their Christmas tree?)
Thanx to all for your help
Stingray :-)
