NTSC-PAL

Is it possible to change a NTSC game into PAL format, so it can be played without scart leads. I have a copy of Tarzan, but I do not know if it is US NTSC or Jap NTSC, or if this even makes a difference. Would be grateful for any info....
Thanx........

I can't comment on the individual game but the website http://www.megagames.com has a comprehenssive list of available patches for most games. It potentially matters (but not always) whether or not the game is US/JAP origin if the patch location is different between versions. Megagames.com will tell you whether or not it's a US NTSC to PAL patch; when you come to apply it with PPF-O-MATIC, and the file sizes are reported as not matching, then you've most likely got the Jap version and the patch is unlikely to work. However, there is a small chance that the modification string is in the same place, say 10%. So you could try if you are desperate.

I get round this problem by NOT patching for PAL and using a Maplins NTSC to PAL convertor, which doesn't care about US/JAP. This box puts out RF (for the aerial) or AV (the yelow/white sockets)

Thanx for the help Charlie, I managed to patch it using a patch from megagames, but I will also look into getting a NTSC-PAL converter for the future.

I don't know how to work it but if you have a Gameshark Pro for PS1 and the hacking software from GSCCC I noticed it has a find code for NTSC to PAL and visa versa.
