Can anyone describe me what an protectin fix patch is?

A protection fix patch removes any protection on games so that you can copy them.
For example if you were trying to copy Final Fantasy 9 your copy would not work as it has protection to stop you copying it.
By applying the patch you are able to copy it.
For patches goto megagames.com
To apply patches download PPF-O-Matic and apply the patch to a cdrwin .bin file

The developers of software try to stop people copying games so they add protection which needs to be bypassed with a protection patch.
