Which Reader would you recommend?
Any of the Toshiba CD-Rom/DVD range
Teac 532E-b, Teac 540E, Aopen ATAPI CD-Roms

Which Writer should I buy to use with CloneCD?

Any of the following are compatible with CloneCD

What settings should I use to backup my disks?
Use the following Settings
PC - Safedisk
Reading - Fast Error skip #####ed
(You can ##### the first two, but may increase read time, or even may not work).
Writing - All off.

PC - Laserlock
Reading - All off (Using "Bad sector Scanner" may increase read speed for weird "custom" protections).
Writing - All off.

PC - SecureRom
Reading - DigitalID on, all other settings off.
Writing - All off.

PC - ProtecCD
Reading - DigitalID on, Read Extra Audio Data on.
Writing - All off.

The easiest way to use Clone CD to copy stuff is by downloading a program called Clony.

Clony reads the information of a CD and tells you what copy protection it is and what Settings to use in Clone CD to copy it.

Also has a nifty button that you can click to automatically pass the settings into Clone CD. So you dont have to do anything except sit back and watch your burn light.

You might want to click on the english version if you dont speak german.

I haven't had any problems with clonecd with these options checked. read subchannel data and audio on, fast error skip on, intelligent bad sector scanner on. don't repair sub channel data on, close last session on. Burn at 2x or 4x. anything else email me admiral_thom###n********com
