you need to patch any game before you burn it or you will have to do another one

Flash... I presume that you are talking about original PSX EA Sports games.

Most of the early releases where protection free, but some of the newer releases have some form of copyright protection on them, its always a good idea to ##### at www.megagames.com for a patch for the title that you are going to backup!

Rimmer... You DO NOT have to patch any game, infact the only ones that realy need patching are those that have copyright protection or Anti Mod Protection on them (Various sites have lists of these games including www.megagames.com).

Dal... If rimmer is lucky enough to have a burner that is 100% compatable with CloneCD (not all burners are) then there is still a possibility that a patch will be required. Any game that has Anti Mod Chip protection on will need to be backed up with CDRWin or similar sofware that supports 'BIN' images. CloneCD wont be able to make a working backup of an Anti Mod Chip protected game!

(Just straigtening out a few minor points for rimmer)

Spooky,

Your right, i should of mentioned the fact that even though CLONE is very good for backups, not all writers are compatible and that some NEW EA games do need a patch, so CDR-Win would be the right choice, i guess ive been lucky cos all the EA backups i have for my PS1 and PS2 i have never had to apply a patch to play

Cheers
