Psx copy site
 

Hi all,

As i could see from this forum there are alot of people who need help and are completly new to the copying process, so I have designed my site to be as helpful as possible for the newbies amongst us.

So what i am looking for is the experienced people here to visit and possible tell me if i have got it right or wrong or if there is anything you think i should add. As all i seem to do is post the same helpful messages time and time again. I am not doing this for any finacial gain just to helpful.

I disagree with your settings for CDRWin.
Error recovery should be set to 'Abort'.
There are NEVER any read errors unless the cd is damaged in which case a good backup is not ever obtainable if you are going to ignore errors.
CDRWin was originally designed to backup PSX and therefore there should NEVER be any deviation from the default values that are there once CDRWin has been installed.
The actual sequence for copying PSX should have a few more steps.
1. Create the bin image.
2. Use Binchunker or CDMage to scan .bin file for any corruption. (If any does exist, recreate .bin using slower read speed, if you cannot get a .bin free from corruption - try another source cd. This does not happen very often)
3. Apply patch if required and RESCAN for corruption.(IF there is corruption - wrong patch used or bad patch - delete - no point in burning this)
4. Burn the cd.
5. Read the cd back to ensure that you have burnt a good cd. (If a bad cd key registration used this will fail.)

Thanks BOT-CK for that i actually cheated a copied the settings from another site but will make the changes,

with scanning the bin files i will have to look into that is i've never done it but seem to always copy without corruption.

As a new bie myself I che cked out your site and found the tutorials especially very handy. I do have a couple of questions for you (either for here or the site). Do you plan on doing tutorials for other software (esp. Nero), and is it possible to make a PAL copy from either a US or Jap game (I did say I was a newbie).

yes you just need to get a selector patch which lets you select either ntsc or pal.

thanks for your newbie site it's very usefull. I only have one problem. When i extract the cd to my hard drive it sais that it's unable to create c:\psxgames\blablabla.cue. What's wrong?

It should be blablabla.[4]bin[/4]

thank you - where do you get the selector patch and do you run it/them as per ppf-o-matic?
