SSX Freezing problem PS2
 

Hi there,
I just got my PS2 this week, complete with Neo2 chip and AR2.

I tried to make a backup of SSX to see if I could, using CloneCD on my Plextor 8220T.

It copied fine, and using the "hold the reset button until the AR disk has loaded" routine, it boots fine.

However... sometimes it freezes while loading the first track in single race mode.

It usually loads though, and the annoying problem, is that after a few games, when you try to restart (or I decide I'm doing rather badly ;) and press Start, and restart) it freezes.

I've tried ejecting the CD, and reinserting, but this doesn't work.

I've also tried reading and writing at just 1x (phew, takes a while) but has the same effect. I was using TDK Reflex CD's, and also tried another no-name CD, but again, same effect.

I tried using CDR-WIN 3.8, but I couldn't even get it to boot (though this is probably due to the fact that I'd never used the soft before, and had the settings wrong)

I also downloaded the patch from Gamecopyworld, and applied it to the CloneCD image, which went successfully, burned again, and still no joy.

I've got through about 9 CD's so far, and every one (that boots) freezes after a few games.

Any wise souls out there got any advice? :)
