i am trying to burn a patched copy of C.T.R.
the game burns no problem and boots up but won't go past the start sequence. i have wasted several disks on this burning at different speeds etc. any offers????

u didn't mention whether u r trying to copy the NTSC or PAL version but if you are copying the PAL version this is the patch you need:

and the patch you are after from the list is:
Crash Team Racing Protection Fix EURO PAL 327KB PDX

I know for sure that this patch works with the UK version since this is the exact patch that i used.

Applied it using PPF-O-MATIC and CDRWIN on a memorex 80 minute disc and ran it on a standard psx with a stealth modchip. It works fine.

So try using this patch and see whether it works. If that fails get some 80 minute memorex discs from www.jungle.com and if that fails then it could be your modchip, but i doubt it.

I had the same problem with ths game, I tried numerous times using different protection patches and still could not get it to work. Someone advised that it could be my burner i have a Phillips. But i have patched Medeveil which is protected. Don't Know. Someone backed it up & sent it to me in the end !!!!. Advise me if you get it to work?????

Im also having the same problem with this game. The thing is that i have backed up loads of games without copy protection but all the games that need a patch wont work for me (crash bash, Resident Evil3, Crash team racing). They always boot, the paradox intro comes up and then they crash right at the begginning of the game!!!!!!!;-(

I have done everything right, used cdrwin (with correct setting) applied the correct patch, use verbatim Cds, read and write at 1X etc etc and it still wont work.

Its getting really annoying (making lots of coasters) now and the only thing that i think could possibly be wrong is my burner even though it backs up games that dont need any copy protection.

I have a Freecom CDRW 8 x 4 x 32 x.

If any one could help i would be very greatful!

I also gave a freecom 8x4x32 so maybe there's somthing wrong with the burner??
