why does it take 16 hours to make an image file with 30000 errors or more in it am i doing something wrong??? please help

It sounds like you have alot of scratches on the original. Get a different original or rubbout the scratches. I have used tooth paste to rub out the scratches. It will take a while to get the scratches out but it will work.

if the game works ok in ur psx, change the *error recovery* setting to *replace* which will replace the damaged areas with zeros. This will create a cd of the same quality as the one u r copying.

So if it plays like crap then so will the copy. But if the original plays ok on ya greystation then the copy should run ok too.

Good idea, replace as much game code as possible with zeros.
You will definately get a useable copy that way.
You should never change the default values that CDRWin uses.
The default for error recovery is 'ABORT'
Seeing as CDRWin was originally developed to copy PSX it is highly likely that they know what they are doing as no PSX game cd has errors unless the cd is damaged.

Works for my nackered games and i haven't had any problems with them. It'll only replace the code that is scratched on the disc, so if u could tolerate playing the crapped up original i doubt u'll care if the back up plays the same.

But obviously u r gonna get better results if u r copying a decent disk in the first place.

But if u r like me and r happy with just playing the game to a sub-perfect standard then just set the error recovery to replace ;) nobodys perfect :p
