ps2 gameshark v1.4... same as v1.3
 

Will the gameshark v1.4 run ea/midway games w/o a patch like the v1.3 does?

i dont think so
they have released v1.4 so it by instruction of sony so it doesnt work with the neo2 chip this is the same for action replay

so is it possible to get a v1.3(a copy maybe) or do copies not work?

they are working on v1.4 but i know you should still be able to get v1.3 if you look ...soon they will be like gold dust

no you cant copy it ..the actual boot sequence is pressed into the cd which cant be copied

the v1.4 will only work with the neo3 chip still in design. the AR/GS disk cannot be coppied complete with the boot code pressed into the disk, as above post mentions. You also need the dongle - a hardware module that plugs into the memory port. The AR/GS disks will not boot without it. I imagine someone will crack it and a little chinaman (no offence) will be shipping bucket loads of blank pressed disks in the future.

Version 1.3 is still easy to get in the US you just have to look around for it
