PLEASE HELP.PSX PROBLEM
 

I HAVE A FIRST PSX,MODEL 1001.I HAVE BURNED GAMES THAT WILL WORK ON MY OTHER PSX BUT THEY DO NOT WORK ON THE OLD ONE COULD IT BE THE CHIP OR DO I HAVE TO BURN SOMEKINDA PATCH WITH THE GAMES

alot of the 1001 series PSX wont read cdr's also the laser could be wore out

Your psx may have a worn out out laser a Warlock stated but if it still runs original games then you should be able to do something about it!

Take a look at www.paulmax.eng.net and look for laser adjustment, there are 3 tiny adjustment pots on the board near where the laser wafer cable attaches and 1 on the laser ribbon. You will need a Multimeter to set up the pots correctly.

If this is done properly you should have many hours of happy gaming ahead.
