US PS2 and patching games
 

i installed the neo2 modchip in my PS2 and it boots all of my PS1 games but when i use my gameshark2 to boot my PS2 backups none of them work. Do i have to patch the PS2 backups for them to boot??? My PS2 is a US version and so are the backups.
