Cannot make ps1 backup...need help

Trying to back up Tomb Raider 3 but having problems. I am using CDRWIN and backing up by copying to image first. Every time I get to 64%, error message pops up. It says

Error: Unable to read DATA sectors 190458 to 190484 on device 0:0:0 Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 64h 00h)

Does this mean that my origional is bad? It works fine in my psx. I have never had this problem before when backing up. I have even set read retry at 50 and read speed at 1.

Any suggestions?

polish and clean disk

or

tell it to ignore bad sectors

Tried both ideas, and still did not work. I am gonna try a different proggy and see what happens.

If you cannot read it then source cd is bad, you will not get a good copy with any software.

Sounds like the source disk is scratched. you could try using Blindread to get an image in BIN format and use CDRWin to burn, i agree with what BOT-CK said, you will end up with a copy that has errors and therefore may fail during game play.

There is also a special fluid you could get to try to polish out any scratches but i have never tried this myself.

Obviously, make sure its not copying on the fly.... I have had the same prob latley... always freezes up. so all i do is extract an image and burn that no problem. Need to do that anyway to apply patches

queeg, keep your stupid CloneCD posts to yourself!
This game is NOT protected, none of the Tomb Raiders are!
Actually, Tomb Raider 2 Platinum is. At least that's what it says at psxcplist.

BOT 03-03-2001 17:35

Tomb Raider Platinum is, that is because it is NOT an original release.
