I copied crashbash sucessfully but it will only play on the ordinary playstation and not on the ps1. why is this?

This is probably because the protection fix patch you used altered the region code. This does not matter on the old psx, but it does on the psone.You can check this by booting up the game in on old psx,when you get to the black playstation logo screen if it says anything apart from licenced by sony computer entertainments, thats your problem.This can be solved by repatching the region code after you have applied the protection patch.
