do i need to patch for protection w/stelth chip?
 

I just installed a new 8 wire stealth mod on my playstation 9001----do i need to worry about---the protection patches or just burn and play---my chip is switchable so i can turn the stealth off or deactivate the mod or play in reg 4 wire mod mode---any replies are appreciated

You can burn certain games and just play, but others will need a patch to get past the protection, coolboarders 2001 needs a patch, same with grind session(Ntsu/U/C) I used cdrwin and patch 0 matic.

If you installed it correctly than you should'nt need a patch for any of the current games. The new stealth mod chips fix all current psx protections. I have the stealth 7 wire installed in mine and have not had a problem with any game so far. However I'm looking for a patch for Crash Bash for a friend of mine who has the old 4 wire chip. That one needs patches for various games.
