It could be your CD writer....
I prefer to use Nero if at all possible (just personal preference, and I seem to never have any problems with it, whereas I think CDRwin gives you too much control) Of course if you're patching, you have to use CDRwin to create the image, but you don't have to use CDRwin to burn it. You can go back to Nero, select File-> Burn Image, and then select the appropriate .bin file. You'll be warned it's a foreign file type, but that's OK. You will have to manually set the data type to mode2, and then you can start burning. If the CD you get at the end turns out OK, then your problem is that CDRwin doesn't support your CD writer.... otherwise you are most likely setting up CDRwin wrongly when you create your image. In CDRwin, most PS games should be read as follows: RAW Error Recovery = Ignore Jitter Correction = Disable Subcode Analysis = Auto in most cases, although sometimes if you have more than one audio track after the data track then it should be fixed. Speed = 2x for Data and for Audio. You should also chose 2x when it comes to writing... as the PS only has a dual speed CD ROM drive. If the game does not need patching, then you can simply open a CD copy dialog in Nero and burn on-the-fly.... much easier and quicker, and I get perfect copies everytime that way. I hope that helps a little.... good luck! |
